China Post is to issue a set of two commemorative stamps entitled The 30th Anniversary of China-Monaco Diplomatic Relations on October 15, 2025. The designs of the stamps are named Cymbidium and Campanula medium. The denomination of the whole set is 2.40 yuan, and the planned circulation is 4.50 million sets.
Since China and Monaco established diplomatic relations, their bilateral relations have developed steadily. Both countries have maintained mutual respect, treating each other as equals. They have set an example of friendly coexistence and of shared development between countries with different sizes, cultures, histories and social systems. The two stamps respectively feature flowers with distinctive national characteristics and profound cultural implications for both countries. China has chosen cymbidium (orchid) which have a long history of cultivation in the country, while Monaco has selected campanula medium (bellflower) that is elegant and lively. These two types of flowers embody the innate value and spiritual pursuit of ecological civilization. The stamps convey a profound message of everlasting friendship, reflecting the shared aspirations to promote greater progress in bilateral ties and deliver more benefits to the people of both countries. This set of stamps is printed using high-precision offset printing technology, together with special scented inks. The orchid-scented ink emits a delicate and fresh fragrance, while the bellflower-scented ink gives off a sweet and gentle floral aroma. Such ink not only enhances the sensory experience of the stamps but also increases their collectable value and commemorative significance. Meanwhile, the fluorescent effects under ultraviolet light add anti-counterfeiting properties and visual appeal to the stamps. The set of stamps is designed by Yan Ping, edited by Li Jinwei, and printed with offset technology (using different scented inks) by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited. This set of stamps will be available for six months at designated postal outlets nationwide, online mall of China Philately (https://jiyou.11185.cn), the mobile app of China Post, the WeChat Mall for philatelic products in the official WeChat account and the WeChat mini program of China Post Group. To present more information about the stamps, China Post will release the digital content through the WeChat mini program “Encyclopedia of China Philately and Stamps”, where philatelists can learn more about the stamps via its AR function. |
