China Post is to issue a set of one commemorative stamp entitled the 10th Anniversary of the National Security Education Day. The design bears the same name as the stamp. The denomination of the stamp is 1.20 yuan, and the planned circulation is 5.9 million sets. National security is the bedrock of national rejuvenation. The National Security Law, which was passed on July 1, 2015, designates April 15 each year as the National Security Education Day. And April 15 this year marks the 10th National Security Education Day. With a striking and solemn color scheme of red and gold as the dominant hue, the image on the stamp is designed in an isomorphic manner, integrating the Chinese character “安” (meaning security) with elements such as a happy family of four people, the imagery of the Great Wall, urban and rural architecture, wheat ears, rocket, aircraft and bullet train, thus forming a beautiful picture of social stability and prosperity. Meanwhile, the design also incorporates the logo of the National Security Education Day, reflecting the general concept of security and the theme of national security education. The major areas currently involved in national security are depicted as bricks stacked up together, indicating the rich connotation of the overall national security outlook and representing the rock-solid national security in the new era. The stamp is designed by Song Jian, edited by Liu Jian, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited with offset technology. The stamp will be available for six months at designated postal outlets nationwide, online mall of China Philately (https://jiyou.11185.cn), the mobile app of China Post, the WeChat Mall for philatelic products in the official WeChat account and the WeChat mini program of China Post Group. To present more information about the stamp, China Post will release the digital contents through the WeChat mini program “Encyclopedia of China Philately and Stamps”, where philatelists can learn more about the stamp via its AR function. |
