On March 16, the land mail route from Erenhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, to Moscow, Russia, officially opened. This marks another significant breakthrough that Inner Mongolia Postal Branch has made in building cross-border shipping channels for northward opening up, after the regular operation of the Erenhot–Novosibirsk land mail route.

Leading directly to Moscow through road-rail intermodal transportation mode, this mail route is capable of handling the full range of Russia-bound land transport postal products, and reducing the impact of weather conditions on transportation effectively. With a total transit time of about 15 days, this route greatly improves the overall efficiency of Russia-bound land mail, thus establishing a convenient and efficient postal logistics bridge for cross-border trade between China and Russia.
