Anyang Postal Branch puts drone delivery routes into regular operation
|China Post News|2025-06-30

At 9:19 a.m. on June 17, a drone with a payload capacity of 50 kilos took off from Shibanyan Post Office in Linzhou administered by the prefecture-level city of Anyang, Henan province. Seven minutes later, it landed smoothly at the low-altitude postal logistics station in Shangping village, which is 1,300 meters above sea level. Currently, Shibanyan Post Office has launched 11 drone routes, each running one to two flights per day, covering 11 administrative villages and benefiting more than 4,000 mountain residents. This marks that Anyang Postal Branch has taken the lead in putting drone routes into regular operation in Henan province.

Since the beginning of this year, Anyang Postal Branch has made precise planning for the drone routes and established a three-level command and dispatch system to enable standardized drone delivery featuring fixed schedules, fixed points and fixed routes. As a result, it has not only improved the timeliness of mail and newspaper delivery but also reduced the operating costs.

At present, Anyang Postal Branch is actively integrating equipment such as drones and unmanned vehicles to develop a “space-air-land” three-dimensional service system, thereby promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of the postal network.
