Chapter 7 Communication Post During the Revolution Period

In modern China Post history, there was a special brilliant chapter of communication post industry during the People's Revolution War. Since the emergence of CPC, secret communication was established within the party. In the land revolution of surrounding cities from the countryside started from 1927, Red Post and Soviet Post were established. During the War of Resistance against Japan and the Liberation War, communication post and wartime post were established. During the 28 years of revolution courses with extreme hardships, communication post industry, which was under the leadership of the party, undertook immortal meritorious service and played an important role of vital line in the aspect of serving for the people's revolution cause.

After the emergence of CPC, with the establishment and development of the organization of the Party, communication was established and extended. In 1924, communication personnel were set up under the organization of party committee of each level. In 1927, the Party set up Central Communication Department and Shanghai Branch, established secret communication lines from central committee to provinces, from provinces to counties and from counties to villages, forming the communication network of the party. In the same year, CPC established Jinggangshan Revolution Bases, set up communication station, land sentry post and mountain sentry post. It also established Red Post Office in Ning-gang county at the border of Hunan Jiangxi. Later, Soviet Governments in Southwest Jiangxi, West Min, Northeast Jiangxi, West Hunan-Hebei, Hunan-Jiangxi, Fujian-Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Hubei-Henan-Anhui bases established Red General Post Bureaus and Red Post Offices. After the Provisional Central Government of Soviet Republic of China was founded, in 1932, General Post Bureau of China Soviet was established to unify the post in the Central Soviet District. Post Administration Bureaus in Jiangxi, Hunan-Jiangxi, Fujian-Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Fu Jian, Min Gan, Guangdong-Fujian bases were established. Post offices were set up in all counties and on communication hub. By 1933, there were 6 provincial post bureaus and 95 county post offices under Central General Post Bureau. After 1935 when Red Army . arrived in North Shanxi after the Long March, Northwest Post Administration Bureau of China Soviet was established in Wayaobao. After the "Xi'an lncident", it was changed as Post Administration Bureau of Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Special District, hereafter, was changed as Post Administration Bureau of Border District, which administration over 20 county post offices.
