As a consequence of their efforts, the operational revenues of 1998 scored up to RMB28.7billion Yuan. Of all the businesses and services, stamp sales, postal savings and EMS have proved the fastest growth segments, accounting for 47%,14% and 8.2% of the total revenue respectively ,with the sum of the three making up 69.2% of the entire earnings.
Internationally, businesses have been developing fast and region, and E-mail services with 40 countries and regions over telecom fax networks. China started international remittances in 1992,express international cash delivery services in 1995,and special international express services and consignee-paying service in 1997.And an international commercial acknowledgement of receipt service has long become part of the regular business. With these service diversification efforts, China's postal service has earned its honors and reputation in the fierce competition of the world's postal and telecom markets.
