Covering an area of 9.6 million km2, China ranks 3rd in landmass in the world. The Chinese territory stretches 5,500 km from north to south and 5,200 km from east to west. In addition to her vast landmass, China also has a maritime space of around 4.73 million km2.
China is complex and diverse in
terrain which forms a three-level terrace sloping from east to west. On the first level is
the Qinghai and Tibetan Plateau which this snow--covered plateau stands Mount Qomolangma
