Health and Quarantine inspection 

117.jpg (4330 字节)When entering the territory of the People's Republic of China, the foreign nationals who  have such symptoms as fever, skin rash, jaundice, diarrhea and vomiting must declare to  the Quarantine Office and receive quarantine inspection.

Foreigners suffering from such diseases as leprosy, AIDS (including HIV infection), venereal diseases, pulmonary tuberculosis and mental diseases are prohibited from entering China by the Health and Quarantine Administration of China.

Inoculations against cholera or yellow fever are recommended for participants from the infected regions.

Participants who carry such special articles as micro--organisms, human organs, biological products, blood and blood products are required to make declarations to the Health and Quarantine Administration and receive quarantine inspection. You cannot enter or leave China without the permission of the Health and Quarantine Administration.

Customs Declarations

To expedite the Customs clearance, a "Declaration Form for Passengers' Baggage" is prepared for you to complete.

All the passengers' baggage and articles must enter or leave the territory at the place where the Customs is established and be subject to the Customs control.

The principle of reasonable quantity for personal use is adopted by the Chinese Customs in the inspection and clearance of passengers' baggage. The Customs shall fix separate dutiable and duty-free limit for each category of passengers.

The incoming and outgoing passengers carrying the articles to be declared shall submit to the Customs the declaration forms and any other documents necessary for the purpose. In the Customs site where the dual--channel system is available, you should choose the "Goods to Declare Channel" (also called the "Red Channel"); if you do not carry anything to declare to the Customs, you can choose "Nothing to Declare Channel" (also called the "Green Channel").

Duty-free Articles

400 cigarettes or 100 cigars. or 500 grams of pipe tobacco, 2 bottles of alcoholic beverages (not exceeding I .5 liter)

2.Personal Effects for Traveling

One piece each of the following items is allowed f Camera, portable tape--recorder, portable cinecamera, portable videocamera and portable computer. Participants carrying personal effects in excess of the limit listed above shall declare accurately to the Customs and go through the necessary Customs formalities. The personal effects cleared by the Customs must be brought out when you leave the territory.

Participants may bring in gold, silver and the ornaments made thereof for personal use within a reasonable amount. You shall make declarations to the Customs if the amount of gold, silver and the ornaments made thereof you carry exceeds 50 grams. The release of the outbound items shall be justified by the declaration documents verified and endorsed by the Customs at the time of your entry.

4 .Currencies

On entering, no restrictions are imposed on the amount of foreign currencies, traveler's checks and credit cards. However, participants who bring in over 5,000 US dollars in cash or the equivalent in other foreign currencies are required to make accurate declarations to the Customs. The Customs shall permit foreign exchange to be carried out based on the declarations made by the cancers at the time of entry.

Participaflts are allowed to bring in or take out a maximum of 6,000 yuan (RMB). The   amount in excess of 6,000 yuan (RMB) shall not be permitted in or out.
