Philatelic Business
In 2005, 1.21 billion pieces of commemorative and special stamps were sold with a decrease of 18.7% compared to the previous year. 29 million stamp albums were sold with a decrease of 16.4% compared to the previous year. The total revenue of philatelic business was RMB 3.58 billion.
With the adjustment of business structure, there were three key services for the
development of philately, namely the personalized stamps, customized philatelic
items and image annual album. 11.56 million sheets of personalized stamps were
printed and 1.7558 million annual albums for image recognition were produced.
Keynote marketing promotions such as the Commemoration of the 60th
Anniversary
of the Victory of Anti-Japanese Aggression War, the Centennial Commemoration of
Movies, Grand Generals of People's Liberation Army were held. Personalized
stamps and folders to commemorate the educational event of maintaining the CPC
members' advanced nature were successfully issued with 1.28 million sheets sold,
reaching an income of over RMB 23 million. A contract for Beijing 2008 Olympic
Games Licensing was signed with BOCOG to produce and sell Olympic philatelic
products, which are adored by the public. The Chinese National Philatelic
Corporation issued a commemorative envelop in January 2005 to commemorate the
donation to the tsunami victims and issued another one to commemorate the first
direct flight from China Mainland to Taiwan during the Spring Festival of 2005.
In order to improve service quality and meet the demand in communications and philatelic market, the new issuing policy
¡°Macro Regulation and Moderate Gross Volume¡±and the sales policy ¡°Subscription in Advance together with Retail¡± were followed for the sales of newly issued stamps in 2006. Some provinces including Henan, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Hunan, Anhui and Fujian yielded outstanding achievements. The information systems for philately management and Olympic Games licensed philatelic products were put into use.
