International Exchange and Cooperation
China Post maintains mail links with all the rest countries and regions in the world. It establishes mail dispatch relations with 151 countries and regions. It has 52 offices of exchange, engages in postal remittance services with 195 countries and regions, with the international EMS reaching out to more than 200 countries and regions. In 2003, the exchange of high-level visits between China Post and its foreign counterparts helped strengthen mutual understanding and friendly cooperation. The delegations of the State Post Bureau visited 22 countries and regions including the Netherlands, UK, Finland, Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Hungary and France and discussed issues concerning post reform and bilateral cooperation extensively. Meanwhile, it invited the postal officials from 37 countries including Australia, Russia, Iran and Romania, and signed bilateral cooperation agreements with 7 countries and regions, including the Netherlands, Russia, Vietnam and North Korea etc.
The year 2003 also witnessed major progress in China Post’s cooperation with TNT. In addition, on behalf of the Chinese government, China Post faithfully fulfilled its international obligations as the chairman of CA. We successfully presided over the annual meeting of CA and the 2003 annual meeting of the Executive Council of APPU and managed to coordinate different opinions and balance the interests of different parties, setting up a good image in the international community.
