Postal Media


Postal media have fully fulfilled its function of education, instruction, communication and service in 2002, playing an active role in building up the good image and promoting the sound development of the enterprise. At present, there are over one hundred postal newspapers and periodicals run by the postal bureaus of different provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and regional cities. 14 of them are issued publicly nationwide and have their national issue number. Two of them are run by the State Post Bureau, namely China Post News (newspaper) and China Post (magazine); and two periodicals are supervised by the State Post Bureau, namely Post Management and Technology and Postal Studies.

China Post News

With its first publication in January 1 of 2000, China Post News is the organ newspaper run by the State Post Bureau and edited and published by the National Postal News Center. China Post News has three special issues, namely Economic Weekly, Philatelic Guide and Culture Guide, covering all aspects of the postal sector, including marketing, philately management and enterprise culture. It also has its weekend version, known as Readings in China, to provide information about the publication of books, newspapers and magazines.

China Post is the organ magazine run by the State Post Bureau. The magazine, which is oriented to all the postal employees and management cadres, was improved a great deal in pursuing the editing style of being "deep, new, quick and vivid" in 2002.

The website of China Post (http://www.chinapost.gov.cn), governed by the State Post Bureau, opened in September 14, 1998. It is not only a governmental website listed in the government on-line project, but also the portal website of the country's postal industry. As the window of the State Post Bureau, the website gives an overall introduction of the characteristics of China postal industry, its organization structure, history and future. It also carries domestic and overseas postal knowledge, postal news, new stamp bulletins and hot topics about post. Besides, it provides the information service on postal tariffs, delivery standard, postal code and the publishing of newspapers and periodicals, helps to promote new technology and achievements in postal research, and release the administrative orders, notices, bulletins and information from the State Post Bureau.

China Post VCD (monthly)

China Post VCD (monthly), with television as its media and VCD as its carrier, collects administrative news from the State Postal Bureau, postal news from different provinces and some programs on special issues. The VCD, known as monthly "Television Magazine", is oriented to all the postal employees and customers. With its circulation being 72,000 copies, it has 12 issues annually.
