International Service

The year of 2002 saw a stable development of international postal services. The total revenue of international services came up to 1.754 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5.18%. As the response to the needs of the market, China Post established more international presences and introduced some new services such as bulky parcels, direct access, SAL and express mails. And much effort has been made to foster the market of international direct mail and business reply service. The parcel services also developed rapidly since we improved the process of collection, transfer and trace&track of parcels. Two exchange offices were opened in Suzhou and Xi'an in order to improve the transportation of mails and reinforce the supervision over the processing of the international mails in China and time limit of transmission. The quality of services has been considerably improved because we revised the quality standards and put emphasis on the training of the employees working on the counters. Above that, Regulations on International Postal Services was compiled and released. And the timely revision of the Regulations based on the actual practices made the operation and management of international postal services more systematic and scientific.
